3.26Web Browser
Embeds a live web page on a dashboard page, in the Configurator preview and in the Veltnova client.
The Web Browser object shows a live web page inside a dashboard page. Enter the address in the URL field and the page loads in the Configurator canvas and in the deployed Veltnova client.
#When to use it
Use it to show a page you already have on the web: a camera's own web view, a monitoring dashboard, a status page. For a link to another part of the dashboard use an Action Button set to open a panel and page. For a camera stream use a Camera.
#What you need first
The address of the page, including the scheme, for example https://example.com. A bare domain does not load. The page must allow itself to be shown in an app; some sites refuse.
#Properties
| Property | What it does |
|---|---|
| Label | Name of the object, shown in the Project tree. The page itself is what is drawn on the canvas. |
| URL | The web address to load, such as https://example.com. |
| Width, Height, Position X, Position Y, Size % | Placement. A new Web Browser object is 480 by 320. |
There is no Access Control, Rotation, Mirror or image setting.
#How it behaves in the apps
- Veltnova client (Windows, Android, iOS): the page is embedded and interactive. With no URL the tile reads "No URL configured"; if the page cannot be loaded it reads "Could not load web page". On Windows it needs the Microsoft WebView2 runtime, which current Windows 10 and 11 include.
#Example
A status page on the Home page:
- Add a Web Browser object, Width
640, Height360. - URL
https://status.example.com. - Deploy. The Veltnova client shows the live page in that rectangle.
#Tips and common problems
- "No URL configured": the URL field is empty.
- "Could not load web page": check the address (including
https://), the network, and whether the site blocks being embedded. - A page that needs a login: the object does not remember sign-ins reliably; prefer a page that does not need one.
